Reduced version, military unit.

Great tool, others have reported that there is no slot on the side of the knife to open the groove for the nail (see second photo below left). Although this can be added, this is a small issue. Otherwise I got it for a small pair of scissors/nail clippers. All tools work well, but do not "hand tighten". Pliers are great for holding hot wire when soldering/welding, turning screws or bolts with the tips will break them. Once you just use them, I recommend them to everyone.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for elderly

One small detail left out

This is a well built smaller version of their multi tool. Contains scissors instead of a file. However, the knife blade on my model only has a thumbnail notch on the inside where it is covered by other tools and makes opening the knife difficult. I'll probably use a dremel and cut out the notch on the other side. Slightly bad design. Also, the pliers head on this model is much smaller than the head on the full size model, so it's not so big that it can be opened with just a flick of the wrist…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some bugs

This is a small redesign of my favorite multi tool and it's not as good as the previous tool (same part number). As already mentioned, the knife blade is different. The open slot on the knife blade used to retrieve the knife no longer goes all the way through the blade, but instead faces INSIDE of the multitool. This makes it almost impossible to open the knife blade with one hand. You'll have to try and get your finger (or part of your finger) inside the multi-tool to get the knife out, which…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Something different

The item I received is a fake.

Received as a gift. I used to have several Gerber multitools. This is the model to be precise. And they were always easy to open with one hand and the pliers worked easily. The nozzles were easy to pull out. With this multi-tool, the buttons on the trigger don't always come out correctly. The slide is hard. The pliers are very hard. And the blades don't come out easily at all. The blade is a different shape than that shown on Gerber's page and instead of a slit cut to open the blade, it has a…

  • cool product

Looks cheap but holds up well

When it comes to quality this is no leather craftsman. I have the fitting and it appears to be of MUCH better quality, from the way the tools unfold to the overall fit and finish, my leather craftsman smokes my gerbera. The half-serrated blade of the gerbera is a joke. But I don't wear a leather man. I wear a gerbera. The Gerber pliers snap like a champ with one hand and are ready to go. The Gerber stays closed like a vise until I pry it open with both hands. While gerberas may appear cheap…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Some issues
