I bought Solarez for clear coating guitars and I did my research and watched tutorials before I used this product, which I highly recommend. Very easy to use and the resulting finish is just beautiful.

I have my suspicions that this is simply re-branded Silmar surfboard resin that can be had in quantities elsewhere for a lot less money. I've been using Italian Polyesters (separate accelerator and peroxide catalyst) for 20 years now on classic car dashboard woodwork, and let me just say, this surfboard resin is not the stuff to use for that purpose. Sucks really runny. More runny than the polyester uv cure reason. And drys cloudy. Can't find anything to make it shiny like it should be being a "gloss" resin. Will not buy again

This stuff is great! It is a little smelly (think auto body filler smell), but not unpleasant to work with. It is thick, and sorta similar to maple syrup, which makes it easy to build thick coats. The only issue with this, and it's not a draw-back, it's just the nature of the beast, is the surfacing agents in this will NOT allow you to just apply and cure to get a high gloss finish. Although the resin works as described I had to give it two stars as no where in the description did it say that the fumes of this resin are so strong that they will make you dizzy and nearly knock you out.Unless you are wearing a respirator that is designed to keep out very highly toxic fumes do not even attempt to use this product. Also do not use it unless your either outside or in a really well ventilated room. The other issue is the storage of this resin, unless you put it outside in a shed

No matter how I tried, videos and instructions I followed it doesnt work. I am loosing my rear on trying all these different ways on cues. I've bought each different type they offer and all in different amount thinking the type is the key. WRONG. I've used mekp catalyst, mixed very thoroughly, let sit even while on the cue before trying to cure it. I spent so much on different types of curing lights and lamps. Sets up in 2 minutes, not recommend for wood surfaces that are exposed to continuous sunlight, any humidity trapped in the wood will fog up and separate the finish from the wood.

I use Solarez to finish pool cues. It is easy to apply. It cures hard and clear. Perhaps the only problem is finding UV bulbs in the right UV wavelength to cure it quickly.I also like how I can apply it and let the shaft or butt spin (slowly) while it flows out nice and smooth. Then I can turn on the UV light and cure it out in 6-8 minuts.Highly recommended.
