The screw inside the power supply is loose!

The photo is hard to see so zoom in, when I took the PSU out of the box there was a loose screw inside. Luckily I heard it rattle and was able to take it to the fan cowl to see it. This could easily explain why other people have experienced catastrophic failures, fires and component damage. It's probably the screw on the inside that wasn't glued and fell out in shipping. or not installed at all. No matter which company Gigabyte buys these power supplies, better quality control is required. or…

Powering A New Build

I had to scrap my old gaming PC and build a new one. When I'm looking for a good PSU I always go for Seasonic, but a few that suited my needs have been backordered so I took a chance on going with another brand. A few other brands looked good, but they weren't stocked either, so I had to take advantage of that gigabyte of power. deliver. The system I have it on is as follows. AMD 3700X32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series DDR4 3600Nvidia GeForce 2070 Super Works great so far. All voltages are…

Fried two hard drives

I chose this power supply because it was cheaper than others I was looking for in the 850W range. Too bad I didn't listen to the other negative reviews. It's far from worth the risk of it catching fire, melting or in my case destroying your drive controllers. I was lucky that the more expensive components weren't damaged, but after replacing my old PSU, I turned on the system, heard a small pop, and was left with no boot disk. You can buy this power supply and have no problems, but in my…

Coil whine, noisy fan - back.

I've been using Seasonic 660W 80+ Platinum in my system for years. After (luckily) getting my hands on the EVGA RTX 3080, I needed a little more horsepower to overclock it. It seemed to have decent reviews and the price was right considering they are all overpriced now. The installation went as expected, the cables are fine. After booting up my new build and adjusting the fan curves, I fired up Warzone for a bit and immediately started hearing this hissing/scratching/frequent noise coming from…
