A 512GB card is actually a 500GB card.

I have a 256GB gigastone card and its capacity is that of a typical vendor, defined in decimals, 256 billion bytes: 256,020,316,160 bytes (238GB). This "512GB" version came with a "500GB" capacity: 500,259,749,888 bytes (465GB). It doesn't seem like much, but why can't they just be honest with the description and sell it as a 500GB card? I have a feeling they are taking advantage of naive users who gloss over large numbers and assume it's a normal difference between decimal and binaryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Bad experience

Memory cards CANNOT be formatted

Bought 5 cards and spent hours formatting them for different devices. The SD card is not recognized and cannot be formatted by Windows or any other program I found online. Please provide the vendors of these drives with details on how to make them usable and how to reliably format them so they don't keep showing as "Read Only!".

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • weak

Legal cards in micro SD cards

I used to get burned by cheap cards at Revain where the cards failed the test (usually because advertised capacity was swapped for actual capacity). So when I came across this pack of 5 x 64GB micro SD cards I was skeptical. Luckily all 5 cards were tested with the F3X, with each card being subjected to a 2 hour write test followed by a read test. highlighted.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good price, meets my expectations

I bought a 512GB gigastone microSDXC card and was a bit skeptical but that's the real deal. Passed tests with FAKEFLASHTEST v1.1.1 and H2testw. The card was tested at 98MB/s reading and 59MB/s writing in Crystal Disk Mark v8.0, making it an average speed, although slower to write than the manufacturer's advertised speed. 80MB/s. This was the only test using a single card reader on a specific YMMV card. For buying a legitimate, high-capacity, "normal" speed card, this is one of the best options.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • No
