If you shop by your true size, chances are you will be fine. I'm on the heavy side (5ft 8in, 232lbs) and bought the 3X. Out of the box they are 3X. First of all I love the Gildan pocket t-shirts - fit and finish is good (and the price couldn't be better) but if you order orange (I thought it looks very similar to Texas Burnt Orange), be aware: actual color is NOT EVEN CLOSER to online image. Seriously, it's fluorescent orange and bright enough to burn your retinas and everyone else within 100 feet of you. I'm sure everything will be fine with me once the screaming pain in my eyes subsides.
