Giro Fixture MIPS Bike Helmet Review

I couldn't find a suitable helmet in the local sports shop. This one fits perfectly and has a reliable brand name. Definitely feel a lot safer when mountain biking. Good padding, fit and appearance. Well worth the money and it was $40 cheaper than other places.

Been looking for a suitable MTB bike helmet for a while. This one rules! I have a large head (7 3/4). This is my size for baseball caps and the like. This one isn't like the many helmets that sit on top of your head like a shell. This helmet is great because your head fits perfectly in it. makes us big-headed freaks look normal. Lightweight, breathes well and looks great!

I had the Giro function and it saved my head in a fall. I bought Fixture because the feature is no longer available and it seemed similar. I've walked with him about 10 times and the visor fell off 3 times. A branch also got stuck in one of the air vents, pulling my head back. Nothing of the sort has happened in the 6 years and thousands of miles I've ridden with the feature. I also wish the visor was longer. The helmet is comfortable.

I love the fit and style, but the lack of mesh in the vents to keep bees out is a huge design flaw. I almost sent it back but decided to give MacGyver a mesh in the front vents. I can't count the number of times I've gotten bees through the vents. Without the net there would be a serious injury. As you can read, this worries me. I would probably decline and go for a helmet with this one. Even my $30 road bike helmet has it.
