Good, but not great: Adult helmets

Worn this helmet for a week and already made a few trips. So far I'm satisfied with everything he gives as a helmet. He feels secure and the MIPs are working as they should. The helmet itself is very comfortable and I never notice it while riding. The style is good but nothing special. The only thing that confuses me is the Go Pro mount. It looks like cheaper plastic and the way it attaches is poorly designed. They offer a very thin felt on the sides of the mount that doesn't provide a snug fit

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Unreliable

Good helmet but not great

Montaro MIPS is a reliable helmet but not the best. In terms of security, he got what he needed. It is true. But I don't think it compares to any of my other Giro helmets over the years when it comes to comfort. The padding initially feels a little thin and the Roc Loc 5 attachment system feels a little too flimsy. To be honest it has relatively sharp edges. Not that they'll cut you, but they can be uncomfortable on long drives. The thin padding and mounts are even more important when using a…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

  • Definitely bad product

Perfect for a big head!

This is a closed review. I haven't traveled with him yet. I'll update when I do. This is my second Giro bike helmet. My first saved me from a serious/permanent injury a few weeks ago when I fell off my gravel bike and hit my head on the pavement pretty hard. I wanted one with a visor and maybe a little more ear/neck protection. After carefully researching other BIG helmets, I settled on this one based on the visor and previous rescue experience from the Giro. It didn't disappoint. It fits…

Montaro vs Chronicle

I asked for a review when I bought it and got some good answers but also some wrong answers so I decided to post my own reviews with photos as proof. So, I just got this today and decided to post a review between Chronicle and Montaro. Conclusion: Chronicle is the best helmet. Look at the photos and judge for yourself: red is Chronicle and black is Montaro. Montaro seems a bit softer. This is more convenient, but the difference between them is negligible. Chronicle seems to be better overall…

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine
