Great helmet for commuting

I love it. During a recent treatment for basal skin cancer, I could see the imprint of my sunglasses on my face from years of cycling in the sun. Sunscreen gets in my eyes and smudges my sunglass lenses, so I decided to try this visor instead. I definitely get more double shots with the alien look, but it keeps the sun off my face. It's comfortable and fits well. You have to be a bit careful with this as the lens can be chipped off easily, but that's my only complaint at the moment. Air flow is

The biggest design flaw. Everything else is fine

This is my first time buying an expensive helmet and I love it when I run into an expensive Zeiss lens with a magnetic mount and of course it's face down on concrete at 22 miles per hour falls and takes damage . as you see in the picture. Excellent! It's going to cost me another $60 on top of the $275 the damn helmet cost me to start with. So I have to ask Jiro about it; Why make it anchored so thin that it falls off on the first hit? I can keep it to myself. Can't return but will add some…

Best Road/Triathlon Helmet

Great Helmet. As a cyclist and triathlete, I constantly need a helmet that is suitable for road cycling and triathlon. This is definitely a great upgrade for any cyclist or triathlete. The helmet is the most comfortable I have ever worn apart from some high end mountain bike helmets. The helmet is very well ventilated. Giro did a fantastic job working with Zeiss on the front protective lens. The lens is easy to remove and reinsert. The magnets feel very safe and secure. I have no real…

Adjustment behind the head does not work

After about 20 rides (without falls and anything else) the adjustment behind the head started to fail. I can rotate it, nothing is broken, but it no longer holds any tension, so I can no longer get the helmet to hold properly. If you're going to spend $250 on a stupid helmet, throwing it away for a two-piece dollar sucks. It has been a few months since the purchase so I can no longer return it and when I try to contact the seller, Revain asks me to select a product, but since the return period…

A FAST Helmet: Adult Helmets

I have been riding the Giro Air Attack shield for 5 years and wanted to refresh my wardrobe. The Vanquish has always been on my short list, but when I rated the competition it became my ONLY list because it comes with a face shield that with any other helmet would be an additional $100 pair of sunglasses. Also, the Firechrome colorway looks super crazy and extravagant to me, and it looks amazing. The fit is very similar to the Air Attack but the straps are much snugger on my head. The visor is…

Very good except for the visor cover

Looks like a good helmet but the price is high so it has to be perfect to get 5 stars. My main complaint is that the visor doesn't fit snugly enough to the face. It stops about 1/2 inch from my nose, which I just don't like. My Roka XL sunglasses are much better and I will sacrifice 2 seconds to use these instead. So the visor doesn't work for me, the price is too high for me and that's why the star was deducted. There are many head shapes so it could be 5 stars with a different head. :) As a…

Good job with glasses!

I bought a Vanquish helmet to replace my old Bontrager Quantum helmet (with MFG date 2012). The reason for this is that the older Quantum didn't have MIPS and just felt like it was sitting too high on the head and the adjustment strap that surrounds everything is closer to the ears (hard to explain). Both helmets are the same size medium. I wear Oakleys and RayBans. The RayBan glasses are of the Transition type, while the Oakley are not. The detachable visors came with the purchase of a new…

Tough decision, I'm glad I bought the Vanquish

Let me get the cons out of the way first. On some rides with increased humidity, high dew point and increased heat index, the visor fogged up a bit. And if you go through real fog, it can get a little foggy. A little annoying. I received the Frog Spit Defog today to try and fix this issue. On the peak high temperature days, there are several warm patches of full sun to the left and right of the canopy. During the ride, I noticed that when I look over my shoulder, the air is good at these…

All in all a good helmet.

Last year my go-to bike helmet was the Giro Aeon. This is the basis for the following review and comparison. I only bought this helmet for the visor so I have never worn it on any ride without a visor. I've done 4 rides of 100+ miles, one of which included an 889ft incline at a respectable 4%. I've been an avid cyclist for over 20 years and can be a bit critical when it comes to my cycling gear. Overall, I give this helmet 4 stars out of 5 because it's not perfect out of the box. Aerodynamics…
