I have used this type of garbage bags for many years. I like them because I can put a lot of things in one and it won't break or splinter. Binding patches is no problem. Basically a good bag.

My family bought these because we couldn't find them in the store and because we have used them for many years. They're not super thick, but for regular junk, they do! Also, they don't have laces that can easily break.

We bought this cool self-opening trash can from Costco and could only find these flimsy paper bags to use with it. They tore easily and were painful to use. These pockets are much tighter than the ones we've used.

I've had bad luck with cheap bin liners and while I wish they had handles instead of valves I'll live with that. The price was good and as I am disabled and need to order as many bulky items by post as possible so I don't have to lug them home I'm happy. Tying both sides of the flaps gives you a pretty strong grip - and the pockets have never ripped on mine (I don't keep razor blades or ax heads in them either, but you know.).
