Glencairn Whisky Glass Set: Premium 4-Piece Collection in Elegant Presentation Box Review

Well my first set came in by the thousands but as usual Revain were pretty quick with replacements. They didn't arrive until Christmas but my husband was very happy with them. These are beautiful glasses and we can't wait to use them. I only gave 3 stars for durability because they are obviously fragile and need to be handled with care and hand washed to last a lifetime. These are glasses that, if handled properly, can be passed from generation to generation.

Lost one star because a bit overpriced but the glasses are of a high quality and enhance the whiskey experience. I don't recommend round stones with these glasses, they are too active, but the cubes behaved. They enhance the aroma thanks to the glass structure. The packaging is almost showcase quality. If they came in an oak or hickory box with existing cushions, I'd pay another $20-$30. The cardboard means they cannot sit on the pole. I will try to make the best box myself.

I've never had cairns but they really transformed my bourbon experience. In addition to their elegant appearance, they focus and shape both the nose and palate more than I thought. I particularly enjoyed sniffing the glasses after drinking: after the last drops of alcohol had evaporated, there was a whole different array of flavors that I'd usually missed. I was in Scotland last year and found out that Glencairn is a leading glass manufacturer and recommended many of their distilleries to me. I bought a set for my dad back then and he loved them. Since then I have given them as gifts several times and they have always been well received. Especially this set comes in an amazing box which is a real wow factor when opening a gift. Ideal for wedding gifts and a must have for whiskey lovers.
