It is beautiful and so practical. I bought this to play Mah Jongg Solitaire so I needed something big and strong to hold my heavy tiles and racks - it's perfect for that specific use. My daughter enjoys using it on the couch to make snacks and treats before watching movies. It's just a big solid tray of a size that doesn't overcrowd everything with really nice solid wood finishes.

So the tray and wood are mostly nice, but the quality control EXISTS. The piece I received had fairly large gaps on either side of the bottom piece between two pieces of wood along the edge. This was because the wood was cut crookedly. There were also about 4 spots on the tray where they used wood putty to fill in some of the dents and holes in the knots. I was looking for a wooden tray to use with our recently purchased garden set and found this one. I chose this one because it was walnut, had two sizes to choose from and it looked like it was beautifully made and it always is!
