Terrible purchase not one way

I have ordered two of these bulbs. One arrived broken and both were the wrong size. (I ordered the 36" bulbs and got the 48" bulbs.) - However, I still need to buy two more RIGHT bulbs for my cool terrarium.

Pros
  • Package Weight: 0.88lb
Cons
  • There are nuances

Great light for fish and aquatic life

My onion shaped 58 gallon Penn Plax has a two socket light. I use one of these lamps together with a spectral lamp with 18000 Kelvin (blue wavelength). This combination gives excellent lighting with a pleasing color balance. In my opinion, just using the daylight spectrum is pretty boring in itself.

Pros
  • This regular wattage, 18000K color temperature bulb fits all standard and electronic ballasts that will fit
Cons
  • Some bugs

Good quality, nice glow

Superb purple bulb. I usually get about 2-3 years before they start to die out. (I also don't keep them for long periods of time to avoid algae growth). Adds a beautiful color to my aquarium with or without glowing fish. If you have neon fish, this lamp will really show off their colors. Personal note: I prefer purple to turquoise or white. Purple is very similar to what is currently used in many pet stores. It also gives a pleasant warm light purple hue.

Pros
  • Made in Japan
Cons
  • Something is wrong
