Showed a black insulator and came white

I bought these candles when there were black insulators in the photo. What I got was a small/sagging white insulator at the top. I would have preferred the black insulator option as that's what I paid for. These forks are ok for the price just not what I thought I was getting.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Better than expected

These forks are better than I thought they would be. I've used 17 of these in one day and 13 have been fine but 4 others seem to lack sound. However, not everything was the same. All plugs without sound were used on different wires. Maybe the wire was the culprit. Candles, although made in China, came quickly. They were so cheap that I plan to buy more soon.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • A few minor things

Reduced speaker cables. or connection cable. 14 gauge or less

NOT MANUFACTURED FOR this large BOLD cable. worked well with 14 gauge wire. couldn't get the whole wire through the solder hole. I recommend buying their BIG PACK. Because when manufacturing LOUDSPEAKER CABLES, you should never save or make compromises. The more the better when connecting speakers. AND ALSO. The shorter the better - aim for less resistance. like a big hose

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Secret

Depends on your usage

I used to be a low level rock star and our cables/connectors were critical. Switchcraft should have gone for longevity. I am currently using these GLS connectors for a permanent installation. Your ground/shield and center pins are relatively thin metal. No problem in a permanent home studio. I wouldn't use them live but those days are gone so for the price they work great.

Comparable to Switchcraft 280.

Compared to Switchcraft 280 they are very comparable but Switchcraft is about twice the price of GLS. Circle, it would be better if they didn't, but they're easy to straighten too. Facilitates installation of Techflex and other cable jackets. You won't regret that the Switchcraft 280 is $2.16 if you buy 100 it's $1.39 for 20 pack.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • unreliable

quality product for the money.

Like other GLS products I've bought this is good value for money. Hurry for the money, it's hard to do better than building your own cables. They do work well for guitar/patch cords though, but I'm not sure I'd like the idea of making speaker cords out of them as I think thick gauge wires can be tricky to properly solder to them. It's possible, but you have to be very careful and maybe even separate some wires from others to make a complex winding to ensure a secure connection after soldering…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some little things

These forks are beautiful and virtually replicate much more expensive industry standard forks. The biggest problem is that the insulating material used to insulate the tip, ferrules and solder terminals looks like foam and breaks down under heavy use. My experience is that they are suitable for applications such as connecting equipment to a wiring closet. I wouldn't recommend them for that collection of cables to patch your old Moog module... This shipment had the "wings" of the ground lug…

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Appearance

Reliable affordable product with a 'small' flaw

This is a well made product with a small flaw. The "Make" blocks come with an insulating sleeve as shown in the promotional image. Just note that they are large enough in diameter to get stuck inside the case's outer shell, so it might look like they aren't included. The only design flaw I've found (and that can be taken as personal preference) is that the ferrule sleeve doesn't have a hole for cable routing. So note that soldering the ferrule sleeve without a hole is required to hold the cable

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
