I have had several different foil cutters over the years. Each of them was difficult for me - I almost never cut the slide the first time. I got the first one as a gift. EVERYONE. SINGLE. TIME! I can easily remove the foil. Since I got them as a gift, I gave them away. I gave it to my Mila and she was very happy. She can remove the foil herself with minimal effort. I pre-packaged several gift boxes with (1) this wine foil cutter which is great - reliable and durable. compared to other brands and (2) a colorful "cork stopper" style wine opener. The combination keeps getting rave reviews. When I need a larger gift I add a pump vent and some rubber stoppers that effectively seal a bottle of wine. Now that all children have grown into young people who appreciate good wine, at Christmas one also wears such a wine in the sock of every stocking.

I use the foil cutters that come with wine openers like the bunny style crafts and the battery operated ones. These foil cutters ALL feel dull and require a lot of force to use.
