Bought from the supermarket this week, slightly more expensive than Revain - same model number - and it worked great for slicing strawberries. I haven't tried eggs.

I bought this through Revain because I love the quality of the items I receive from Revain. Unfortunately, I found a product that, in my opinion, does not correspond to the quality. I bought this product because it was a stainless steel wire construction. but the first time it was used to cut mushrooms, 2 wires broke. The rest of the wires are thin. It's better to buy a commercial/professional cutter.

I don't know where we bought this item - maybe the local grocery store. It wasn't from Revain, but I was so dissatisfied with it that I wanted to post a review somewhere. The wires on this slicer are not tight enough. When you touch them with your finger, they bend easily. So you don't even cut all the way through the bottom of the egg. Forget anything harder like mushrooms.

I bought this item at the grocery store. I thought it would be handy for a 2 year old: non-slip bottom, comfortable grip. It slices well, but if you choose to dice the egg, the egg chunks will be pushed into the rim around the bottom. This will clog the device and prevent you from completely cutting through the egg. This would be a great product if the bottom was open instead of bordered. I sent it back and will not buy anything like this again.
