I think if you don't sit on them very often they will be fine. We sit on them every day, we've had them for about 3 months and they're flat - the padding didn't hold up - we're not that heavy either - 140 and 160lbs. The only thing I like about them is that they don't slip. Otherwise, forget it - more cushioning is needed!

I really like these chair pads. They're the perfect thickness, don't slip on the seat of the chair, and the gray color is pleasantly understated. My regular kitchen chair seats are narrower in the back (12 inches) than in the front (16.5 inches), but the bolsters still work well -- a little flattened at the back corners. They go great with my metal folding chairs and will look a lot nicer to guests than cold bare metal!

I was in a hurry and didn't take into account that the back of my dining chair is slightly curved, so the seat isn't exactly square. The back of the seat can be 1/2 inch narrower than the front. .
