🛵 GY6 Engine Rebuild Kit 150cc Big Bore Cylinder Head Chinese Scooter - GOOFIT 57.4mm Bore Cylinder Kit Review

This kit is for a non EGR system which unfortunately means the valve cover doesn't work it's not their fault but the head wasn't drilled on any of the tabs so I have to do it drilling and cut the head by yourself.

Item arrived well packaged, unfortunately I had to spend an additional $25 to fix the head as the valve was not positioned correctly and I had to snap the washer straight in, see picture. If I installed the block it would have completely destroyed the rest of my engine.

The only thing I can say about this product is that the price was good. Unless you are very knowledgeable about engines, these products will not come ready-made. Molded cast, not trimmed or feathered. Comes with valves installed, but you will need to disassemble the valves that are not seated. Do not just assemble a trial actuator as the valves will never close. Customer service is a joke with no understanding of their products. no one ever picks up the phone number.

The valves in this thing are weaker than the OEM exhaust valve is the GY6's Achilles heel. I've seen OEM stainless steel exhaust valves on occasion, but this is an exception. I bought this kit to repair the top of my engine that was wrecked due to a defective exhaust valve. The exhaust valve in this kit didn't last 300 miles before it burned out completely. At least it didn't break in the cylinder like last time. So if you buy this kit, you should seriously consider upgrading the valve.

I returned this kit, when I opened it the piston wasn't in the box it was in the cylinder. The piston had a dent right at the top edge, the cylinder looked good but there were air bubbles in the casting in the head. And part of it is missing 1/2" x 1/4" to the right of the top of the valve. The kit included roller weights for the variator, the weights were completely filled with very heavy weights, I had never seen anything like that. This set seems like great value for money considering the price and the contents. Not sure why there are so many positive reviews, either some kits are good and some bad, or they never installed them, not sure. When I opened the box, the first thing that alarmed me was that the piston was stuck in the cylinder with no lubrication. Fortunately, the cylinder wall was not scratched during transport.
