Overpriced and Incompatible Cable

The cable seemed sturdy enough, but unfortunately, it wasn't compatible with either of my computers. The price was also steep for a simple cable that failed to do its job. As someone who relies on computers for work, this was a frustrating waste of money.

Great product in the Cables and Connections section

Great product for connecting a modern computer to Cisco equipment. It connected to our Windows 7 PC and didn't require any additional drivers. I was able to connect to Cisco 2911, 2960XR, and 2951 devices and Aironet 3700 access points with no problems, which I think is a better option than buying an adapter for an existing serial console cable. These new cables don't require many special drivers to work and in most cases are cheaper. This cable cost $11.21 and the adapter $14.60.

Only works with USB cable

Works great on both my personal Win10 laptop and my Win7 work laptop. Both systems found and installed the drivers automatically, although Win7 took a little longer because they had to go to Windows Update to find them. Of course you'll need to check Device Manager to see what COM port your system has assigned to it, although once assigned it should be the same every time you plug the thing back in. DB9 console cable and USB serial adapter.
