Gourmet Basics Mikasa Spindle Adjustable 2-Tier Basket with Banana Hook, Black & Gold Antiquing Review

The pictures and the description show that the basket is black. The basket arrived damaged and was covered in gold paint over black. It seems that the DIY project failed or that the black color was applied poorly. Definitely not worth the $52.00 it is selling for. Could it be a counterfeit product? It should be noted that I found exactly the same basket at Kroger for $ 10 cheaper.

This fruit/vegetable basket is worth the money. The large basket is detachable from the stand and can hold a 5 pound sack of potatoes; The smaller basket also lifts up and can hold 7 large apples (its dual handles fold down) and the stand can alternately hold a bunch of bananas when the top basket is placed elsewhere. The design is solid. It is beautiful and enhances any kitchen.

I thought long and hard about which fruit basket I would like and I am very happy that I decided on this one. Everything is solid so the arm doesn't bend even when the upper basket is full. I love that the top hook can be used to hang a smaller basket or to hang bananas. The baskets are also larger than I expected. I like how much they can hold, especially as we buy a lot of apples so I buy a lot at once. That also looks very nice. It's really beautiful and simple.

Wow! Just as good as I had hoped! Love it. Even in my fancy little kitchen, after cleaning up some of the excess junk on the countertop, it has its own place and holds all those fruits and veggies that I prefer to keep outside of the fridge. Bananas, tomatoes, avocados, zucchini. , onions, potatoes, garlic and other ready-to-eat fruits. Now the tomatoes will not rot and get moldy like in the plastic basket I used before. Fruit snack instead of stuff. And a bonus! Looks classy!

Although we had a very nice hand painted fruit bowl from a large set we bought 4 years ago my wife wanted something lighter and two tiers. Since I had a gift certificate, money wasn't an issue here, so she went with that one. I think we would have bought it anyway if we hadn't had that certificate. We love it.
