My printer stopped while printing shortly after inserting the black cartridge. It just hung and I turned off the printer. When I turn it back on I just see a black grid all over the screen and it never loads. My printer is HP M454dw and the screen gets stuck with a black grid and doesn't respond or change. It will be stuck on this screen for several days. If anyone knows how to fix this please reply. I would definitely appreciate it being brought back and made to work.

I was a bit concerned that the installation would be difficult or beyond my (limited!) technical abilities, but the instructions that came with it and especially that The accompanying tutorial video was very helpful and I was up and running within 20 minutes. These cartridges require the physical removal of a tiny chip from an "Original HP cartridge". This honestly requires a sure hand with tweezers and a surgeon's patience. Could never get it to work. And openly explains the difference in cost between this product and "real" HP cars. Don't waste money. I only wish I could reclaim the (over) hour I spent trying to get this to work and the frustration that was flushed up in me trying to get these stupid things to work. Don't waste your time!

I bought these toner cartridges to replace the HP 414A. You cannot use these cartridges unless you physically remove the microchips from the HP cartridges and place them on the cartridges. A pair of pliers is included to cut the plastic around the chips. We attempted to remove the plastic around the microchips with pliers, using an xact-o knife to cut under the chip and loosen the adhesive.
