I've looked at many different types of audio players similar to this one. I only use it for my art studio, so I don't need anything big, bulky, or complex. Although the item arrived VERY quickly and works correctly as described, the style of this player is slightly different from the one I received. I use the Boom Box in my bedroom to play tapes or CDs at night when I can't sleep. Also use it when the seasons change, when I put away my winter clothes and take out my spring clothes - a job I dread at every change of season. Many people say there is no cable - it's (stored) in the battery compartment. I prefer to use batteries. This particular CD/cassette player drains the batteries VERY quickly. With my other players, the battery lasted a few weeks, with this one 5-7 days. The sound is good, discs and tapes play normally. I just downgraded my rating from 4 to 2. It's been about a month and a half since I received this cassette/CD player. Bought to play audio books from cassette. About three weeks ago he ate one of my tapes. Then he did it again, but I was able to pull out the tape and save it. Then I tried again and lost another cartridge. Last night the tape recorder stopped working. So the radio and CD still work, but the cassette didn't last a month and I ran out of money. It could have been a good turntable…
