Disappointing, not worth the hype

As a fan of classic video games, i was excited to give this popular game a try. Through trial and error, I found that the controls were clunky and frustrating. While the world was immersive, the graphics were subpar even for their time. The biggest letdown though, was the glorification of violence and crime. i don't find joy in playing as a criminal and causing chaos in a digital city. Overall, I don't see the appeal of this game and it definitely does not live up to its reputation. .

Impressions from the purchase are good, buy.

Although the game is less popular, it retains its popularity as: 1) The first game in 3D from the GTA series. 2) Ported to many devices, systems and consoles. 3) Many modifications such as: Armageddon, RealMod, Extended, ShowCity, etc. In addition, transport, textures, objects, vehicle physics and the behavior of citizens are modified. 4) Thanks to some mods, cut and unfinished features were restored in the game, such as: the player's swimming in the water, working and normally flying planes…

Pros
  • A game that combines shooter and racing, the story takes place in 2022, the first 3D game from the GTA series, the prototype of New York, a city with its own laws and regulations, open source code (thanks to which the game can be modified) and low system requirements from a computer or laptop.
Cons
  • The main character, whose name is not mentioned anywhere, cannot swim, jump out of the vehicle on the move and climb over obstacles, the game requires a disk in the drive, there are no motorcycles and helicopters in the game, but there is a plane that does not fly well (problems with planes and helicopters solved by mods).
