No security = good phone; If security is important to you, don't worry

Will most likely suit you if you are not concerned about security at all. UDP and RTP transport work great with Asterisk. Seems to be good sound quality. But TLS/SRTP? Forget it. Presumably this works with Asterisk 13.3 (or a patch - what does it mean to recompile Asterisk. Really?), but I didn't hold my breath. There are other phones that will work with TLS/SRTP almost immediately. I already googled the answers on the Asterisk forums - a Grandstream rep said TLS will give you trouble.

Very good phone. Very easy setup

Very good phone. Very easy setup, easy to set up speed dials. The phone's speaker is average, not "excellent" and not even "polycom". However, people on the other hand claim that they hear me better on this phone than on a Polycom phone when I'm speaking speakerphone. I like to use only the speakerphone, which frees my hands and allows me to use the computer while talking to clients. It's a good phone, but I wish there were more softkey programming options, which seems a bit limited here. Outโ€ฆ

Great phone, love it! So many possibilities

This phone is great! One day I decided to take a risk and built a FreePBX phone system for my office. I've been looking at phones for a while, eyeing Cisco because they're so common in other offices, and even looking at some Android landline phones. For the price I couldn't find anything that was worth as much as the Grandstream. The color screen is nice (although the viewing angle could be a bit better) and there are lots of buttons you can program etc. It has an adjustable stand and is wallโ€ฆ

Everything you need in your phone. And great price!

I couldn't believe what I was reading looking at this phone. So many functions and buttons and a great price! I ordered one hoping for the best, expecting good quality. I am very impressed! I found the web interface very easy to navigate and easy to program. The menu was intuitive enough to get up and running quickly with my FreePBX/Asterisk setup. Unfortunately, the OSS Endpoint Manager does not yet have a template for this. (I may have to add that myself) However, if you can afford to spendโ€ฆ

Works great with Asterisk / FreePBX

I run FreePBX in the cloud and use multiple phone numbers. To call from one of these numbers I had to dial 9, 8 or some other combination of numbers. I chose the Grandstream GS-GXP2160 because it offers 6 SIP ports, a color display and a few different settings. After receiving the package, I was up and running within minutes. You can set up your phone using the phone keypad or the web interface. I chose the web interface. I configured all 4 of my extensions and said they turn green. Callingโ€ฆ

Great phone for SOHO and small businesses!

As a VOIP guy I have used and installed hundreds of phones. The Grandstream GXP series is one of my favorites for its easy setup, overall good sound and build quality, and price for the features included. Let's start with a few "pros" of this phone. First, it has up to 6 rows, out of the box. And a huge number of breakpoints that can be customized (like speed dial, BLF, special features - like direct transfer, etc.) and the result is a huge amount of functionality. You can set up BLF (the LEDโ€ฆ

Great phone, HORRIBLE warranty

Grandstream products are NOT covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Only resellers do that. Because of this, it's hard to tell what warranty options you have. We had problems with some. They have capacitors that scream bloody murder when connected to PoE. Luckily, Revain has replaced our bad phones. However. Grandstream has an EXTREMELY responsive support team and they are very receptive to feature requests and other support requests. We currently have 16 of these phones in service, as well as

  • There are other interesting options.
