my outdoor cat will sleep in a bed on my porch, but it must be several feet off the ground for her to feel safe. i have a bakers rack that this house fits perfectly in between 2 of the shelves providing her much more protection from the cold, yet allows her to be able to peer out if she hears a sound . colder , windy nights i can just hang a throw from the top shelf for extra protection and she is warm and happy without feeling she is "trapped" as some other cat houses have made her feel.

The mat on the inside is hard and not very comfortable but a good material in case they like to claw things. I put a soft scarf over the math and added the name tag on the top. The house feels a little cheap for the price but a good size for a cat. The material is good in case it needs to be washed, just feels a little cheap.

My wife and I bought this house for our new puppy. She loves the house as soon as she saw it and ran into it. The only issue is that if you have a puppy, you might want to reconsider buying this product. Our puppy randomly likes to bite the house, and she has ripped a small part of it.

The product is much flimsier than I expected but it does the job and our cat sleeps very comfortably in it -- and we have a 15lbs. cat -- large! The zipper that connects the walls to the rooftop isn't the greatest quality and has come apart once -- but I was able to zip it back together in a couple of minutes. Nevertheless, I think it's a great buy.
