Best all round running board

You can't go wrong with Greenfield. They've been around a long time and footpegs just work, period. I recently installed one of these C-pillar mounted versions and I like it even better than the stock one. The main advantage of this model is that the cranks are clean. So if you want to lubricate the chain, you can do so simply by lowering the footrest and turning the crank back. Your chain moves in a circle without the cranks hitting the stand and stopping you. Better stability and 360Β° crank…

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Best stable footrest for loaded bikes

Even with a well-loaded suitcase, this footrest will hold up well if you choose the right footrest length. You can make your bike even more stable by using Velcro or a thick rubber band wrapped around the brake lever to apply the front brake when the bike is heavily loaded. It's certainly not a beauty, and it's not the easiest thing to do, but the biggest benefit is that the assembly process doesn't affect the bike frame itself. Oftentimes, the traditional centerstand will become pinched…

Pros
  • Easy to assemble
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

CAN'T GO BACK! NOT SUITABLE FOR MANY BIKES. BEWARE!

This is not clearly labeled as "disposable". It didn't fit my Specialized bike at all with an oval aluminum frame. I went back to the article on Revain and looked for where 'non-refundable' might be written and still can't find where it says. I've used them on other bikes before and they're a bit clunky, ugly and tend to come loose all the time. It will work but not recommended for true trail or mountain bikes as it will dangle in the back begging to be crushed. Easy to assemble if you're lucky
