I've only used this to find buried valves and it's great! It took me a second to figure out the sounds and best practices, but I was able to pinpoint valve positions to within 5 inches before digging the hole. With valves, it's best to run the receiver at full frequency, run it down a known wire to see how the frequency sounds, and then not worry about tracing the wires if the range is small is.
