First impressions are disappointing. Does not turn on with new batteries right out of the box. I took the batteries out and put them back in a few times, turned it on and off a few times and finally it turned on. screwdriver in the floor. With this guide I found one of 10 valves. I also found a pipe and three buried bricks. I found four more valves, three of which had a soil probe to be stuck into the ground where I suspected the valves would be. The probe penetrates sand fairly well, but stops when it hits something hard. So if I get a few hits with the probe on a 4 inch diameter circle, I dig. So I found three valves. I will try again to search for the last five. valves, but my hopes are low based on today's experience. I don't know how much sandy soil with water affects the indicator, but I'm getting a lot of questionable readings.
