Description of ⚙️ Enhanced Grinding Wheel for Faster Cutting and Sharpening Speed

Precision Made Solid Aluminum body 8" dia by 1" with CBN on the face and 1/4" sides of the wheel. For 5/8 inch shaft. Designed for use with slow speed 8 inch bench type grinders; 1800 RPM or 3600RPM. Will never need dressing, or truing. Wheel Diameter stays the same, so you will not need to be keep adjusting your jig. Use with High Speed Steel (HSS)Tools Only. Note: These wheels are made with very tight tolerences. The arbor hole is precisely cut to .6254 inches. The shaft on many grinding motors are not as percise, and may be slightly larger then .625 inch. This will cause an interfearance fit. A little bit of emery cloth on the shaft will help get the wheel on.

Not Worth the Investment

This grinding wheel is a waste of money. It's marketed as a high speed cutting tool, but it barely cuts at all. I purchased this for industrial use, and it just couldn't keep up with the job. The price point may seem appealing, but it's not worth the investment.

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Poor Cutting Ability

Best grinding wheel

This is the best grinding wheel I have ever used and never needs sharpening. Working with the supplier (Viking Mountain Tool Works) was VERY easy. My tools have NEVER been this sharp.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

A little too narrow and very rough

Bought as a second 80 grit CBN grinding wheel. I have the other 180. The new one spins with no vibration but is a bit narrow compared to my old one. It is also very rough and wears away material very quickly. I use both Igor lathes for turning wood. Sharpening this tool throws out some fairly large chunks of metal so you have to be careful not to erase the nick...but it's very good for shaping tools. It also offers a cooler tool temperature compared to 180 grit.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure
