Very Good General Purpose Screws

In the past I have typically used drywall screws for all my woodworking projects or home renovations, but I have realized that drywall screws are brittle and not suitable for these applications. I bought these screws after seeing them on an online video and they work great. The screw is good quality and they come with a torx tip which is much better than Phillips screws. They're self-tapping so I didn't have to pre-drill holes before inserting them into the wood. Great price too.

Excellent screws. with one caveat.

05/08/21 Edited Comment: Yes they are great but $16 for $100 is overpriced! Cost $7.50 in 2018. Original Review: These are great screws but I would caution you that they are difficult to drill to match the surface. The head is small, with small incisors on the underside, allowing the head to easily dig into the surface to sink itself. But it doesn't stop there! Even with a very low clutch position on my drill, the heads dug into the hardwood-faced plywood. In all other respects they are great.

Possibly counterfeit

I suspect these clasps are counterfeit. I used to buy them from Home Depot and when they arrived I noticed some subtle differences. The packaging is slightly different from those purchased in HD. The quantity was different, the font was slightly different, the packaging was different. The screws themselves also appear to have been torn off a bit. The tip didn't feel as sharp or pointed as the store-bought HD fasteners, the finish felt slightly different, and the head felt slightly smaller. All…

  • Clasps
Cons
  • Cord shorter than others
