🎨 Mapei Grout Refresh Colorant and Sealant: Avalanche - 8oz Bottle, Grout Paint and Sealer Review

My builder didn't do a great job and the white grout of the white tiles was stained yellow when the house was built from scratch. I complained to the builder of the house and they sent a person to fix it which made it worse! He looked mottled with yellow and gray spots. I bought this product and colored myself, then voila! Avalanche White Grout Refresher made the grout so beautifully white. Very easy to use.

I used this product for a new grout job because Mapei's white grout had a 'yellowish' tint to my ice white tiles. Should have researched earlier. Avalanche is by far the purest white you can find. Read and follow the instructions, this is not a quick or easy process. Avoid excessive tile stains and make sure your elbow is greased. This product works as advertised, but it's boring. Take your time. It will be worth it at the end of your project.

Application method I used: Sponge Grout Refresh the tile making sure the grout is lightly covering. If you add a thick layer it will only delaminate. Leave the product to dry for 12 hours, then fill it up with soft warm water and leave it on for 5 minutes. I scraped the floor lightly to remove the paint from the tiles, the paint came off the tiles slightly and the grout took on color. I am happy with the results. Total running time = 1 hour. The Avalanche color is used.

This is the first time I have tried Mapei's grout and sealer and so far it has worked very well. It covers the old discolored grout in one layer. I love the work he does and although it is quite a tedious job of painting the grout and removing excess material from the tile it is really nice to see the difference he is making. This is by far the best alternative to removing grout and re-grouting. I'm not done with the floor yet, but it's going to be beautiful! I highly recommend this product.

I don't know why anyone would choose white grout, it always looks shabby. I used this material on half a dozen tile floors in two homes and it's amazing how satisfying and inexpensive this DIY renovation project is. Makes a tile floor look brand new in a few hours of work and less than twenty dollars! It's definitely easier with less grout per square foot than this floor I show in my photos - I haven't taken the time to go back and clean the edges a little more carefully to tidy them up yet…

That's Great! I moved into a historic brownstone in Chicago. I am renting and although they have done a lot to update the property they have not renovated the bathroom. After two days of brushing, I couldn't get the discoloration out of the grout. I saw this on tiktok and decided to give it a try. My OCD dreams have come true! My shower looks new and clean! This is a cheap solution with a big impact. It only took about 30 minutes. I have almost the whole bottle left. Definitely an easy project…
