Not even close to 18 AWG - that's ALL the jacket/insulation and almost NO wires

WOW! How they think it's 18AWG I don't understand. They completely encapsulated the outer colored insulation when they concluded it was 18AWG wire. The amount of wire you get is so flimsy it's almost useless. AVOID this. Too good to be true at this price!

It's copper!

I've almost played around with cheap copper clad aluminum but I read a few reviews and they pointed me in this direction. Excellent wire, I use it for replacing motorcycle cables and repairing vintage cars.

Bad Wire is Bad: Car Accessories

I always heat my connectors. never seen anything like it. BTW, the wire is thicker than what you buy at your local hardware store. 100% no household wire.

That's exactly what I wanted.

I haven't taken it off the spool for an accurate measurement and don't intend to. This wire is exactly as advertised, 27 strands of 16 AWG pure copper. My only regret is that I will not be using full 100ft skates. I highly recommend and will definitely buy again.
