Love this set of knives, good value for money. I've used the Santoku's base ruler a few times in a commercial kitchen when all the knives in my work area were dull. Still sharp after butchering and trimming a few pieces of beef/pork tenderloin.

My husband is a foodie even on vacation so this was a little treat for him! The knife is sharp, the set perfectly compact and regular cooking is a pleasure. We use it when we camp, so we don't use a cutting board at all, but we appreciate having one when we want to. smaller/lighter variant.

We love that it comes in a nice case. With small cutting board and knife sheath. I've been chopping veggies and chicken for outdoor cooking this past weekend and the medium knife was perfect. He cut and sliced the food as I expected. He hides when not needed. I added a little sharpener and should last us for years.

Bought for hiking gear and was NOT disappointed! In this case everything is fine! The knives are super splinter-free and easy to use. The blade covers are plastic, which is great. The rag is SUPER! And the cutting board is great, folds easily and works well when open. The tote bag is great and big enough, I stowed all the cutlery for the camp in it. Took them for a week long trip and I'M VERY HAPPY WITH IT!

Bought this (with my own money) for our country kitchen and it's really good. The knives were sharp, the guards are good, the cutting board and towel are excellent too. Everything fits in a nice suitcase that I keep in one of my bathtubs. I don't know if I would take it on a hike (it's a bit bulky and for weight reasons) but for a car/country camping it's great. GSI seems to be doing good things and this one doesn't disappoint.

Update 6/7/19. This is my second season of using it for camping. STILL SHARP! This knife set is AMAZING! So happy I bought it. Remains sharp, does not rust, compact, takes up little space for storage and packaging, and is light in weight. The cutting board is a good size and the wash towel has a straining and cleaning side. Excellent! 2018 - Just received. First use has shown this to be an excellent sharp tool. So far ideal for camping. Thank you!

Great set for traveling by van which was my reason. These are the 3 types you need, good size and well made. The set includes protective sleeves and a case containing a foldable cutting board, a cleaning cloth and a small bottle (useful for soap).
