Description of GSP NCV72990 Axle Shaft Assembly

GSP CV Axles are engineered to provide OE fit, form, and function - premium materials, coupled with precise machining and balancing, ensure smooth, vibration free performance in all driving conditions. Since boot failure is the main cause of CV axle failure, our axles use only premium grade neoprene boots that ensure robust abrasion and extreme temperature resistance, preserving boot integrity. Assembled with a specially formulated, high-temperature Moly grease that resists friction and wear, contributing to a lifetime of smooth, dependable performance. All axles are thoroughly inspected for quality and workmanship, and because we believe in the exceptional quality of our components, every axle comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Left or Right Rear (Driver or Passenger Side); 21-5/16 inch compressed length; bolt on outer joint; bolt on inner joint. For select 1986-91 Volkswagen Vanagon vehicles (verify fitment details with fit checker above).

Highly Dissatisfied with Axle Shaft

This Automotive replacement part was a complete waste of money. After trying this product, I was extremely disappointed with the quality. The shaft assembly WAS poorly manufactured and failed after just a few uses. The only pro is that the packaging was decent, but that doesn't make up for the useless part. The cons are that its durability is lacking and its not worth the price-tag .Save yourself the hassle and avoid this product..

Pros
  • Durable and sturdy construction ensures consistent performance.
Cons
  • Prone to premature wear and tear under heavy loads and extensive use.

You get what you pay for

I fitted them to my 1987 Westy, July 2019. It had a regular lift at the time. . I bumped it up to 1-1/2" with a Go-Westy kit about 8 months ago. No problems until yesterday the axle broke, I was cruising uphill on a compacted road, about 20 mph, he went without warning. So about 15 months. I used them because they were the fastest on the market at the time, I was in a hurry to go on a trip. I knew it was going to be a crappy spin. Raising the suspension helped they don't. I will be replacing…

Pros
  • For some 1986-91 Volkswagen Vanagons (see fitment details above)
Cons
  • I won't tell
