Works well for tool kits

Works great. Despite the reviews, I read that it's messy and difficult to seal. I've found it works great with my outboard's throttle cable. It needed a bit of tweaking at first, but once I installed it properly, it lubricated the cable with just a few squirts of aerosol lube. Excellent goods. Required this year.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Modern

Will not work.: Motorbike & Powersports

Hello, I have 2 motorbikes and 2 scooters. My friend also has 2 motorcycles. This tool did NOT fit ANY of these bikes (6) and it was a waste of my money. I was waiting to do a full cleaning/stage of my bike and missed my return window. Simply put, the tool has to be WIDE to fit each cable. Good idea, bad tool. If this was just a failed app I wouldn't be writing a review. But this tool didn't work on 6 different bikes including Harley, Buell and Yamaha. I would resell it as a new instrument, but

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Will not fit all

Not easy on a Harley but it works

The tool is really too long for the Harley Street Glide clutch cable but I managed it. It wasn't easy to keep the inner rubber hose in place when pulled over the metal zip tie. I had to use pliers to hold the cord loop and feed the cord into the tool and use my thumb to hold the inner rubber piece in place. Once I applied the lube and screwed it in, it worked surprisingly well. Of course, chain oil splashed on the adjusting screws. When I oiled without lube it didn't penetrate as much.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Hard to tell
