GUM Butlerweave Floss Mint Waxed Oral Care Review

I bought this product because it was waxed. Some of my teeth crumble for us. Unfortunately, this product is no better at preventing this. Otherwise it works fine.

I found this thread in a store once before it was discontinued. When I found it on Revain I was blown away. I know it sounds weird to get excited about dental floss, but I have a hard time finding dental floss that doesn't tear my closely spaced teeth or get stuck between my teeth. This yarn works really well and my crazy husband loves it too.

This is one of the best yarns I've had and 400 yards at $7.24 is a steal. It's definitely thicker than the Glide or Reach, so if you have really narrow teeth, look elsewhere. It's about the same thickness as a standard retail brand waxed thread, but feels a little stiffer. Then, after rubbing it in a few spots, it thickens a bit. If it helps, you can use it on a few more teeth; If not, move the thread to the new part.

I'm not sure what Butlerweave is (sure I can find it) - and my hygienist has never heard of it. It feels like it cleans between teeth better than tape or traditional waxed floss. There is a consensus among other family members that after using Butlerweave, you never want to go back to the normal thread.

We have used Listerine Gentle Gum Care (formerly sold under the Reach brand) for many years but unfortunately it is no longer offered. It was a soft thread of cloth-like material that worked great. I bought this GUM yarn because one site listed it as one of the best woven yarns, along with Listerine. If you are also looking for a Listerine tissue thread replacement - keep looking, this is not a similar product at all. It's only marginally better than any cheap plastic floss (like the Glide…
