This brush is really good. The bristles are incredibly soft and perfect for baby's delicate skin and cute, sparse strands of hair. The brush is very gentle and definitely feels like goat hair because my dogs are obsessed with it. It doesn't smell or anything but obviously they can tell! For newborns and children with thinning hair, this is amazing. Like all soft bristle brushes like this, it doesn't work very well when kids get a decent amount of hair or when it's not fine hair, but I still really like it. It's very soft, a good size and well made. A lot of the baby brushes I've found have lost a lot of their bristles, but I didn't have that with this one. The carrying case is very handy for keeping the brush clean which is an added bonus to an already great product.
