I ordered these to add to my son's hamster cage. When we put everything together it was really great and the hamster seemed to like her new "pillow" but hindsight it's always 20/20. The hamster loves to put litter, food and waste products in tubes. The entire cage system has to be disassembled for cleaning, turning a 10-minute job into an hour. Glad I found you! I bought a critter trail for my hamster. I wanted to connect some hoses but there were no connectors. I looked at the Kaytee brand and they only had a kit for almost $12. I found them and they fit Kaytee tubes! I have tried every brand of tubing and cage for our hamster. Habitrail ovo wins by far. Here are my pros and cons. Pros: Rigid construction, they are strong and stable. They snap into place so there's no better security than other brands that just snap in and out. We first bought mouse traps that we threw in the trash because they paralyze mice. We then bought plastic traps and they worked great except we still had mice. Bought the Habitrail Tower and Studio sets. I don't know how it makes sense since the same company makes the same products and individual elements, but the tower fits together much better than the studio. Very well made and a must have if you have multiple hamster habitats! They are securely attached, easily removable and easy to clean. These locking rings are way better than the CritterTrail ones. The most frustrating thing about this part is that it's in two parts (like all Habitrail tubes). This can be a real headache when trying to connect pipes to it. I've found it's a lot easier if you attach two caps to it first, and then attach the first tube to one side (so it holds it together).
