Great product but the metal guide pin doesn't fit on one side

I bought this and the Weller stand at the same time and I like this Hakko better. It's stronger/heavier/bigger and the chain (yes, no solder) is quiet when sliding across the rail (unlike the Weller post). My only complaints are that you have to assemble it yourself, which isn't really that difficult, and that one side of the guide pin doesn't fit in the hole. Otherwise it's almost perfect. I am happy with my purchase.

It does the job. - Lot

It's good. Does what it's supposed to and is pretty simple. The only thing I could complain about is that my roll of stranded solder and my roll of Radio Shack solder (I was in a hurry, don't judge me) are too wide to fit in both. It would be great to have two reels in one holder to choose from. I can't dock the star as that wasn't the design intent of the device. The instructions don't say which side the ground screw should be on. But it's almost too small to pick.

  • Doubtful purchase for old people

Most of the time, the Hakko name can be trusted simply because it sets itself apart from everyone else. However, this is not one of them. It just doesn't perform as well as the other options for a few very simple reasons: 1. The stand itself is a bit flimsy. I just wish there was something heavier that stayed in place. With a full…
