Good product for science class demonstration. It comes with spare gears in case a student overclocks the kit. The gears are dry so I recommend putting some grease on the gears instead of oil before use and they will probably last a long time.

These are the standard handheld generators used in science classes. The wires are connected to the block, in others I attach the wires to the block with screws. Both methods work well for me. Came with 2 bulbs. Plastic gears wear out, so changing gears is very beneficial.

The weighted case design, smoother build, and extra gears are an incredible benefit no matter how often or harshly you advise students to "take it easy" with the crank. , there is always a small percentage in the group that wants to see how fast/how much etc. they can turn the knob and ruin the transmission on other models. This is fairly robust, making it an excellent learning tool for students of all ages.
