I ordered a smaller size first to fit my 8 year old (medium height) son. After washing, she sat down in such a way that it was impossible to put it on her head. I exchanged the item for a size X/L. (The return process was very easy and the larger sweatshirt was received promptly). I just got a bigger size. We bought this with a pair of matching blue jogging pants and the colors matched perfectly. However, the size was smaller than I expected.
