First of all it's NOT 100% cotton, it's only 90% cotton but still pretty comfortable. Second, it's oversized, if you're a size 8/10/12 and like size M, size L will fit from size 12+.

I have ordered the large shorts in black before and they work great as a casual/workout short. I don't like a thick, wide belt, but the price and length were top priorities. Note, however, that the large navy blue shorts were the same length, but the waist was a whopping 2 inches wider! For reference, the black shorts were 34 inches and the navy blue shorts were 36 inches. Hope this helps future buyers!

I bought these shorts for my 12 year old daughter. She weighs 125 pounds and is 5 feet 3 inches tall. I bought 10" Hanes jersey shorts (grey) and 11" Hanes Bermuda cotton shorts (navy blue). I was pleasantly surprised at the length of the two. I ordered both sizes XL (size 16-18) even though I'm 5'10" and a size 12/14 based on some other reviews. I'm returning jersey shorts, not even to buy a different size. Edit 2021: Added a star because these are still the best pajama/lounge shorts I've found and I have about 5 pairs now. They serve long.
