Siphon System Winner

We love this siphon system. "5 cups" is enough for both of us to enjoy 2 regular cups of delicious coffee, just like in Japanese cafes.

Makes great coffee

Great! Just follow the instructions and you'll be making the best coffee you've ever tasted. Or you can do what I did and try all the ideas on the internet. At the end you will find that Hario has already done it for you. The best coffee maker ever.

Disgusting vacuum brewer.

This coffee maker is not as good as the less expensive Yama vacuum coffee maker that I have been using for 6 years. The design lacks a tray for the alcohol burner, making it difficult to center the flame for even distribution. Also, the funnel holder is cheap thin sheet metal and I doubt it will last long. Finally, brewed coffee tends to be bitter due to the funnel cone, which extracts more bitterness from the lower layers of the coffee. The Yama or Cona has a wider funnel base to spread the…

Great coffee maker, makes great coffee but doesn't pour well.

This brewery is great - I love their unique style. Brews great - no worse than any other siphon (I also have a Yama on the stove, two Conas and two other Harios - Next and Miniphon). I've mostly used it with a reusable stainless steel strainer in place of the cloth filter that came with it, and with a butane gas burner in place of the alcohol burner that came with it. Maybe my device is just an anomaly, but my biggest complaint is that it doesn't pour well. As with the wine decanter (from which
