The feathers are weak. accepts guy ropes and pegs

Good quality cable but weak hook springs. Our dog basically rolled over and unhooked. He did this twice before we started duct tapeing the zipper. We live on a major highway and it wasn't very good.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not bad

Shorter and thinner than expected

It's difficult to determine the thickness of objects without a reference, but it's thinner than I expected. It's also a few inches shorter than they state (think they include the clasps in the measurements).

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Other Other

Didn't live up to expectations 3 inches short to be exact

This tie is only 19'9" long and my dog and I expected the tie to be 20' long (as described) This 3 "Difference made a difference For my dogs, all impressions of a tie are disappointing. The materials appear to be decent, but generally fell short of expectations.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Expensive

Strong and durable

Cold New England winters tend to make the plastic coating on ties quite hard, eventually tearing them. I like to change my German Shepherd's tie every 4-6 months. The Hartz tie out cables have proven to be reliable and I will continue to buy them. They gave us rest.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Sturdy and strong for ties and pegs

All of our previous ties broke at the junction of the wire with the clasp, but all were designed to trap the wire in the clasp mechanism. With this Hartz system, the wire is fed through the fastener and crimped back onto the wire. This greatly reduces the likelihood of wear and corrosion. The clasps are also a definite improvement over what we've used in the past (and paid the same price to buy this Hartz).

Pros
  • Handy
Cons
  • Compatibility

The fasteners are very sharp and cut my fingers

These cables always snap and rust far faster than they should. My 80lb lab mix has broken 2 so far this year. The biggest problem with them is that the fasteners are EXTREMELY sharp. The first time I used it I put my thumb on it to open it and it cut my finger sliding it down to open it so I could clip it to the dog's collar. Like a sharp razor. So I suggest you submit it, otherwise if yours is boring, you're in luck!

Pros
  • Decent work
Cons
  • Not everything fits

and they are a great couple. Coated durable metal cable.

I bought these with a 21" Dome Boss Pet and they make a great pair. The cord is made of strong metal and is encased in plastic which makes it (a) highly visible and (b) so far from chewing protects. What I particularly like are the hardware on the ends - nice slide locks that won't bend, break, or accidentally come loose. Some of the other cables I looked at had much cheaper ends. Why isn't there a fifth star? I've had it for a month and there was a kink in the cable, that's the most annoyingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Ribbon
