I filled my base up to 80+ lbs. easily by cutting a 1-gallon pool chorine bottle in half to make a funnel. The pool chorine bottles from Lowes and Home Depot have nice threaded caps that I threaded right into the umbrella base. With the funnel in place, I was able to scoop almost 1.5 bags of playground sand into this base. (A bag of playground sand is 50lbs). It was slow but not difficult. ——Update 12/15/22I went to move stand and noticed water in the inside of the pole mount which is bad since it has no where to empty out and starts to rust on you floor. Took a look underneath and sure enough it was. You will also have to be careful and not slide the base but roll it on its side to prevent damage to you floors. This probably would've worked very well on land, but we wanted to put an umbrella in the middle of our pool. The 110 LB weight using water and sand is pretty heavy, but we decided the umbrella and stand would not be stable enough for inside the pool. Someone should invent a pole with umbrella that can be put inside a pool for added sun protection when the kids are out there. We decided to return this without even opening the box, especially since it arrived after our pool party day.

I bought several stands and this one has no screw to secure the umbrella into the stand. I missed that when looking at the pictures.

I like that it's made of plastic, makes it easy to store when I'm not using it. I just fill it with water so I can toss it back in the shed when we're done.Holding up the 8ft umbrella well. I never have it up during windy days though.

This umbrella base works just fine. Decent-looking, too. Holds plenty of water weight and is supportive enough that I'm not worried the umbrella shaft will pull out in normal and average winds. If you don't want to lug around a lot of weight--up stairs, across the lawn, in and out of a moving van, etc.--this is a great choice.

This is a great umbrella base for our 10 foot umbrella over our table. It was extremely easy to get together for the first use. I like that it has the design on top as it just adds a little extra to the typical umbrella base. It is just what we needed for our backyard space.
