Heekooi Splints Support Swelling Adjustable Review

I bought the size XL for my father who has severe swelling. The corset is a little shorter than the photo so I use it with a 10" section of compression tubing at the ankle and foot. However, it's a lot easier than wrestling a compression hose over his extremely swollen lower leg.

They work as advertised but the smell is awful, they smell like a chemical plant, I've even washed/soaked them in dish soap and it still smells so strong! The smell will dissipate and disappear over time.

Great for protecting my 97 year old dad's calves. He is confined to a wheelchair and assistants constantly smack him on the wheelchair with their shins to get him in and out. Now they know how to do it right, and the legs will heal. We still wear shin guards all the time and the legs are healing.

Not as tight as compression bandages or compression stockings, but good if you can't stand the above for a while. They're like holiday stockings. I'm just not sure if you can tighten them tight enough. Velcro and straps are all cat sponges so my husband had to help me. I've already stowed them away for emergencies, as I'm leaving soon. be adapted for high knee bandages.

Bought 2 sets for my elderly mum who has rice paper thin skin and has horrible tears on her skin when she meets a rose thorn etc. They protect her legs. She wears them over socks. It's very thin and they fit well. She carries them around our friend's puppy and it has saved her several times when he jumped up and got his claws in her leg.

Great Price! They cost a lot less than if ordered from a medical company. My doctor recommended them and couldn't believe the price of Revain! They are fully adjustable. I have washed them several times in cold water and let them air dry. They still look like new. There is a slight smell when you open it, but that goes away over time. I suppose if it's really tiring they can be washed before wearing. I recently bought a second pair so I have a spare set if I need to wash them.

Reading the product description and reviews I found that most of the reviewers were talking about their "normal" calves or their fat and swollen calves, but NONE describe the actual size of the product. I mean, take a flexible tape measure and measure as accurately as you can. This is the only way to improve communication and not be disappointed with the product upon arrival.
