I am a graphite artist who has been looking for a good sharpener for many years. This Helix A5 is just what I needed! It doesn't attack the cedar wood of my pencils, but it makes the wooden case silky smooth. It also gives me an amazingly long sharp point! I'm really happy to have this in my ArtBin! It was worth every penny and I can only recommend it!

I recently bought this helix sharpener in hopes of getting a dressier point on my pencils. I had a Dahle 122 from the 1980's but after 30+ years the blades became a bit dull. Dahle had a fine point, but it wasn't safe to sharpen anything softer than colored pencils.
