Sturdy but if you have an adult cat the shelves are not big enough. My cat cannot turn around and has to bend down to get from one shelf to another. He likes the top round shelf very much and most of the time he curls up there to sleep but still hangs on it. A cat could easily fall. I would love it and give it 5 stars if only the platforms were wider.
