HFS QUICK DRILL DRILLS HARDENED Review

I've just taken this vise out of the box and been playing around with various things I had lying around and I have to say I'm very impressed. Drilling machine.

The jaws will not close fully because the inserts are narrower than the notch they fit into. I'm going to make some new jaws that also have horizontal and vertical v-grooves for a round shank. All in all a great vise for the money but if you want to clamp small parts you will need to add the jaw spacer.

Cast iron body, uncoated steel guides. Well designed and built, the tight tolerances on the rails minimize tipping when unloading. The lack of bushings on the cheek block, cast iron guides. Requires little adjustment but runs smoothly, the cam lock is strong and ribbed. Interchangeable jaws but can be thicker to allow the jaws to be fully closed for fine work. Cam travel is adjustable from 0" to 3/8" which is usually sufficient for all but the softest materials. This vise is probably not…
