is perfect when used as an indoor fan where a built-in 4" fan blows through the wall and is placed outside. The fan doesn't have enough power to open the flaps, so this design is ideal as it provides unopposed ventilation.

Used 2 of these as ventilation blankets to install an exhaust fan in a new bathroom. I had to remove the insect screens to get adequate airflow. The insect screen is too fine-meshed and significantly reduces the air flow. I used an old fashioned toilet paper test. With the screens in the fan, a square of toilet paper would barely stick to the exhaust fan grille. When I removed the insect screens, the paper stuck firmly to the fan screen.

I would like to give 5 stars but the first one sent didn't have the mosquito net as advertised. Many other reviews point this out. I contacted the company and within a week I had a new one with a mosquito net. So they got it right, but it should have been right from the start. The product itself is reliable ventilation. I have one as an external vent for the composting toilet and another for the battery box. Both fit perfectly in a hole cut with a 4 inch hole saw. Also designed waterproof.

I have a 4" 150 cfm inbuilt exhaust fan. I originally purchased another duct cover which I had to return because it restricted airflow and made a loud squeaking noise when the fan was running at maximum speed This cover, on the other hand, is much quieter and fits perfectly in the duct thanks to the friction of the black plastic wings. Advantages: Nice, tidy appearance, built-in pest protection, easy to install. Easy to attach with 3 small flanged stainless steel screws but this product would be perfect if it had 3 countersunk holes and came with 3 stainless steel screws. Thankfully, thanks to the combination of the flexibility of this product's plastic and the small flanged screws I used, they lay almost flush, looked flush, and held it in place nicely.
