8 TB HUH728080ALE600 ordered from NEWTRONIC SYSTEMS. Of course I'm glad that I tested it quickly. When I first plugged it into my Synology NAS, I thought my fan had failed. I can't believe I got a new drive. My hard drive had an existing partition (in my experience, NIB drives come completely unformatted) and CrystalDiskInfo says it went through 25 power-ups and 3 hours of use. Not astronomical, but after just installing it, I survived about 4 reboots and an hour of use. As short as the time was, it looks like someone else was using it. Not knowing what it was used for, how careful they were and why they sent it back annoys me like hell.

Had to fix drive error after a few months of use when the drive suddenly became unavailable on my network server for no apparent reason. Not too happy about that. But still works after scanning and repairing the drive (and backing it up just in case). I don't like feeling insecure about big hard drives with lots of data. Update 06/01/18: The problem occurred again. More bad sectors (growth errors) found. I'm trying to return it but Revain says the return period expired a month after purchase. I

First impressions are one thing, we'll see how durable they are. The typing speed is crazy! I have every SSD in my system except this one (which I use as a 4TB archive/backup drive) and they're holding up pretty well. it is indoors Windows showed it as 3 disks. I had to do some work to exit/merge all the volumes and get everything set up properly. I am concerned that this is a sign that this is a refurbished drive being sold as new. Great drive and crazy throughput for a 7200rpm drive. To be honest, this drive performs better than most non-Samsung SSDs. Not only that, the price is great, I bought 5 of these for my NAS and I can't tell you how happy I am. These are not refurbished discs, they had 1 power on - that's when I turned it on. The wheels are great and one of the last things HGST did before selling them to WD. If you are familiar with HGST products, you know that these are the most reliable actuators on the market.
